For all of you that fondly remember rummaging at the bottom of a Frosties box for a Tony The Tiger bike reflector to jam on to your spokes, there is a new (frankly better) alternative for the next generation.Scoobits are collectables aimed at younger children with scooters, they feature little animal characters on a strap that fits around the handle bar of a scooter.
They’re made of that soft plastic that looks (and probably is – I’ve resisted so faR) really chewable, and the (mainly) animal characters that feature are reminiscent of the Moshi Monsters style.
There are nine characters, bee, bunny, dragon, penguin, puppy, rainbow, scary monster, shark and strawberry.
Despite being technically outside of the target age, my nine-year-old and eight-year-old loved theirs as much as my three-year-old did. The only downside was that Elliot, 3, refused to believe his wasn’t a watch and spent a long time trying to tie it around his own wrist…
They’re available from Amazon for £3.99 each, or for local stockists and other online options see www.scoobits.com.
